About us
Here we hope you will be able
to find out a bit about our group and our aims.
We are, as yet, a relatively
small group of people (and slowly growing all the time) local to the Alton and
surrounding areas. Many of us are living with MS but you don't have to have MS
to be a part of the group, we welcome anyone interested in coming along to our
meetings.
Our branch is part of
the Multiple Sclerosis Society which is the UK's largest charity for people
affected by MS in the UK, about 85,000
people. A figure that is under review and
will change.
Our branch offers advice
and help to people in the area who are living with or affected by MS by way of a
good old fashioned get together or a chat. The welfare (support) officer can
assist in relation to help and services in the community and information on
benefits, grants and form filling. We meet regularly, chat about everything and
nothing, have a laugh and arrange social
events
for all the family.
We always welcome new members and need
volunteers.
Remember,
a problem or situation shared is a problem halved
and we are here to help, member or not. If we can't
help then we know someone who can.
